Since 2011, Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall have not only established themselves as one of British pop’s brightest acts, but as a global pop phenomenon.
Little Mix have fully cemented their status as the world’s biggest girl band, with the quartet asserting dominance in the charts album after album.
With four multi-platinum selling albums, signature and iconic hits including Wings, Move, Hair, Black Magic and Power, the Number One-selling girl band have sold more than 45 million records worldwide and notched up a total of nine platinum selling singles, surpassing a record previously held by the Spice Girls. Little Mix continue to push the boundaries of modern pop today, creating their own unique and innovative sound filled with the underlying message of their incredible friendship.
The band have spent 2018 writing and recording their upcoming fifth album, due out in November. The collection is their strongest work to date, being as the girls themselves say 'the album we always wanted to make'.
In many ways Little Mix’s 3 x platinum fourth studio album 'Glory Days' was a real turning point, their biggest selling album to date. The album, originally released in November 2016, saw the band break record after record. As the biggest selling female album of 2017 in the UK and spending a total of five weeks at No. 1, the most for a girl group since the Spice Girls in 1997, Glory Days has also been named the longest-reigning Top 40 album for a girl group ever. It is also one of the Top 10 biggest albums of 2018 so far – an incredible result.
Spawning numerous hit singles, including Touch, No More Sad Songs and Power, it was Glory Days’ cheeky first single Shout Out To My Ex – the band’s fourth No.1 – that was a real standout moment, selling more than 1.2 million copies in the UK alone and winning Little Mix their very first BRIT Award in 2017 for Best British Single.
Little Mix have established their reputation as one of the most phenomenal performers around, a force to be reckoned with. Alongside massive tours of Europe, Australia, Japan and the US, the group’s shows have also been named as the biggest UK arena tours for 2016 and 2017. This summer they toured stadiums across the UK with the 'Summer Hits' Tour.
Pop acts like Little Mix don't come along that often. Growing better and bolder with each new album, they understand the brilliance of pop music and how it relates to their passionate and loyal fanbase. Not interested in just releasing music for the sake of it, their songs are personality-packed, carefree when they need to be and emotive at just the right moments.
Now with LM5 just around the corner, things are about to go properly interstellar.
