A show for TV lovers, made by TV lovers, Too Much TV is for those wanting to hear all about the unmissable TV from that week.

This energetic and fun tea-time show will air Monday to Friday live on BBC Two. With more TV available to us than anyone can keep up with, this new series will inform viewers about what’s on, be a place to glean insight and hear opinions, catch the watercooler moments you may have missed, and indulge in a good old gossip about the biggest shows on TV that week. It will also delve into the archive so viewers have the chance to enjoy again, some of TV’s greatest moments. Too Much TV starts Monday 29 February at 6:30pm on BBC Two.

Dan McGolpin, Controller BBC Daytime & Early-Peak, said: “This is an exciting opportunity to bring a live magazine show all about TV to early evenings on BBC Two. Viewers will find out what to watch that night, whilst enjoying themselves immensely in the capable hands of our presenters, roving reporters and the production team behind Strictly: It Takes Two.”

Each weekday, two of our presenters will pair up to present the latest TV news, welcome celebrity guests into the studio, showcase first to air clips and go behind-the-scenes to lift the lid on a little TV magic.  We are also excited to have comedians Funmbi Omotayo and Susan Calman as part of our Too Much TV family – they will be out and about in their tireless quest to bring you the insider scoop on all things TV.

Presenters Emma Bunton, Sara Cox, Rufus Hound and AledJones, all self-confessed TV lovers, said:

Emma Bunton: "I'm super excited about Too Much TV. If I wasn't hosting this show I would 100 per cent be tuning in everyday. It's right up my street as I'm obsessed with all things telly!"

Sara Cox: “I'm really excited to be working with 2 of the hottest blondes in showbiz - Rufus & Aled. Plus I get to job-share with an actual spice girl!  TMTV is going to have a poke around in last night’s telly for any treats you may have missed and will give you heads up on what to watch on your telly box every night. It's also very exciting that I'll be able to commandeer the remote control at home, gawp at loads of TV, and claim it's for work.”

Rufus Hound: "With the premise of the show being that there's 'Too Much TV', it may be hard to see how making more of it is going to help. And yet, I'm assured by the BBC's very top scientists that it definitely will. I guess we'll just have to wait and see if they're right or not.
For my part, I shall be spending my wages on trying to fix the garden."

Aled Jones: "I'm always being told I watch too much TV so this is the perfect series for me to present with my 3 old mates Emma, Sara and Rufus! I'm sure even I'll discover some hidden gems I've never watched!"

Too Much TV is a 30’x25 commission for BBC Two produced by BBC Entertainment for 6.30pm. The series was commissioned by Dan McGolpin, Controller BBC Daytime & Early-Peak, and Alex McLeod, BBC Daytime Commissioning Editor. The Executive Producer is Leon Wilde.
