Tom Fletcher Announces The Christmasaurus Musical Edition!

Tom Fletcher Announces A World First: The Special Musical Edition Of The Christmasaurus

First Time Ever An Author Has Written A Soundtrack For Their Novel

Book & CD Released Together November 16th 2017

Harry Judd, Matt Willis, Giovanna Fletcher and Carrie Hope Fletcher To Star In Stage Show Production

Tom Fletcher this morning announced that he is releasing a special Musical Edition of his novel 'The Christmasaurus', featuring the hit book and a brand new 14 track CD.

Released November 16th, this book and CD package marks the very first time an author has written a soundtrack to their novel.

The Musical Edition includes 14 never-before-heard songs on CD, all written and performed by Tom Fletcher.  The tracks are accompanied by a full orchestra, alongside solos from Giovanna Fletcher, Carrie Hope-Fletcher – and Santa Claus! Throughout the story are prompts that tell you when to press play, with full lyrics included so readers can sing along too.

As Tom explains "This book all began with a song. It was called…’The Christmasaurus’! That song inspired this whole story and as I began writing the book I wrote more songs that helped me tell the story and bring the characters to life. The book was released last year, but I knew that somehow I wanted to get these songs out there too. I see them as a soundtrack to the book and, while the book can be read on its own, just as the songs can be listened to without reading the book, you only get the full story when you combine the two."

Tom also announced today the special guests who will be joining him for The Christmasaurus - Live On Stage.

Harry Judd, Matt Willis, his wife Giovanna Fletcher and his sister Carrie Hope Fletcher will all be appearing alongside Tom in the show, which arrives at the Eventim Apollo London for a special Christmas spectacular, for a strictly limited run from 21 – 28 December 2017.

Featuring the all new songs, 'The Christmasaurus - Live On Stage'  is directed by Derek Bond and has been adapted for stage by Miranda Larson. The stage show will feature sleigh bells and singing elves, Santa Claus and flying reindeer, music and magic. It’s a tale about adventure, family, friendship and discovering that the impossible might just be possible.

'The Christmasaurus' is also being turned into an animated feature film, directed by Michael Gracey who has recently directed the highly anticipated movie 'The Greatest Showman On Earth' starring Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron and Michelle Williams.

'The Christmasaurus' was the biggest debut middle-grade novel of 2016, it reached No.2 in the children’s chart, held-off the top position by JK Rowling and was shortlisted for Children’s Book of the Year at The British Book Awards. Rights have been sold in x territories including the US, Germany, Spain and France. Forget everything you thought you knew about the North Pole, pop a crumpet in the toaster and get ready to meet:  A boy called William Trundle; His dad, Mr Bob Trundle; Santa Claus (yes! The real Santa Claus!); an elf named Snozzletrump; Brenda Payne, the meanest girl in school (possibly the world); a nasty piece of work called the Hunter; and a most unusual dinosaur . . .

Tom Fletcher is one of the UK's bestselling authors for children. His latest middle-grade novel, 'The Creakers', has just been released, alongside 'There’s a Monster in Your Book', his most recent picture book.  He is also one half of the author duo behind the Dinosaur That Pooped picture-book series, which has sold over a million copies. Tom's books have been translated into nineteen languages around the world (and counting). Tom Fletcher Book Club with WHSmith launched in Summer 2017 and Tom is a 2018 World Book Day author with his £1 book Brain Freeze.
